According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

Cristy Lee Waugh, 27, of Marlinton, was arrested October 17 on a charge of obstructing an officer. Bond was set at $1,000.

Robert DeWayne Waid, 25, of Marlinton, was arrested October 15 on a charge of domestic battery. Bond was set at $2,500.

Michael Allen Vandevender, 31, of Green Bank, was arrested October 16 on charges of driving under the influence and registration violation. Bond was set at $1,250.

Ferrell Gene Kelly, 47, of Cass, was arrested October 14 on a charge of prohibited person with a firearm. Bond was set at $1,000. He is currently lodged at the Tygart Valley Regional Jail.

Travis Elwin Cochran, 35, of Frank, was arrested October 18 on charges of domestic battery, possession of a controlled substance less than 15 grams, brandishing a deadly weapon, three counts of destruction of property, shooting within 500 feet of a dwelling and obstructing an officer. Bond was set at $14,000. He is currently lodged at Tygart Valley Regional Jail.

In Magistrate Kathy Beverage's court:

Brian L. Martin, 44, of Buckeye, pleaded no contest October 14 to a charge of failure to register as a sex offender. He was assessed a $250 fine and $160.80 in court costs.

Steven Hunter Sharp, 24, of Marlinton, pleaded no contest October 18 to a charge of driving under the influence, second offense. He was assessed a $250 fine, $210.80 in court costs, $85 in additional fees and sentenced to 15 days jail to be served on the weekends.

Jonathan Carl Shearer, of Marlinton, was placed on unsupervised probation to expire February 20, 2011 for a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 15 grams.

Donald Campbell, 49, of Hillsboro, pleaded guilty October 13 to a charge of domestic battery. He was assessed a $250 fine, $160.80 in court costs and sentenced to one year jail, to serve three months and placed on two years of unsupervised probation. He is to complete 32 weeks at BIPPS class. A second charge of domestic battery was dismissed per plea agreement.

A charge of disorderly conduct against Jason Todd Carr, 33, of Marlinton, was dismissed October 12 by motion of the defense.

In Magistrate Janet Kershner-Vanover's court:

Russell Wade Arbogast, 30, of Cass, pleaded no contest October 21 to a charge of providing alcohol to minors. He was assessed a $100 fine, $160.80 in court costs and sentenced to one day jail with credit for time served. A charge of permitting DUI was dismissed on motion of Assistant Prosecutor J.L. Clifton per arresting officer's request.

Matthew Brian Alderman, 31, of Marlinton, pleaded guilty October 21 to charges of driving suspended/revoked non-DUI and driving under the influence. He was assessed a $200 fine, $326.60 in court costs, $75 in additional fees and sentenced to one day jail with credit for time served.

Kimberly Gay McDowell, 45, of Hillsboro, pleaded no contest October 21 to a charge of no proof of insurance. She was assessed a $200 fine and $160.80 in court costs. A charge of driving suspended/revoked non-DUI was dismissed per plea agreement.

John Ray Fitzgerald, 49, of Cass, pleaded guilty October 21 to charges of driving under the influence and no operators. He was assessed a $200 fine, $326.60 in court costs, $75 in additional fees and sentenced to one day jail with credit for time served. A charge of obstructing an officer was dismissed per plea agreement.
