Grand jury indicts five

The Pocahontas County Grand Jury indicted five men on nine charges last week when it convened for its December term. Indictments are merely accusations and not proof of guilt. All indictments are felonies unless otherwise noted.

According to Prosecuting Attorney Donna Price, the following indictments were handed up:

John B. Boggs, Jr. 61, of Marlinton-one count murder, one count wanton endangerment.

Charles "Buck" Stull, 50, of Durbin-one count murder, two counts wanton endangerment.

Samuel D. Elliott, 58, of Green Bank-one count attempted murder, one count misdemeanor domestic assault.

Greg Warf, 47, of Hillsboro-one count malicious assault/wounding

Lee Wolfe, 37, of Durbin-one count driving under the influence, third offense or greater.

In a media release, Price said the number of indictments were "limited this term in light of three of the indictments are some of the most serious charges a person can face and can carry extensive prison terms."

Arraignments are scheduled for December 30 in front of Judge James Rowe and for January 7 in front of Judge Joseph Pomponio.
