According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

Maksym Afanasyev, 27, of Alpharetta, Georgia, was arrested December 28 on charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving. Bond was set at $1,000.

Codey Scott Haney, 18, of Mill Creek, was arrested December 30 on charges of domestic battery and destruction of property. Bond was set at $1,000.

Daniel Ray Gill, 46, of Panama City, Florida, was arrested December 31 on a charge of domestic battery. Bond was set at $2,500.

Timothy Delbert Moffatt, 48, of Webster Springs, was arrested December 31 on charges of driving under the influence, second offense and driving suspended/revoked for DUI. Bond was set at $2,000.

In Magistrate Janet Kershner-Vanoverﾒs court:

Travis Elwin Cochran, 35, of Frank, pleaded guilty December 30 to charges of domestic battery, possession of a controlled substance, less than 15 grams, obstructing an officer and three counts of destruction of property. He also pleaded no contest to charges of brandishing a deadly weapon and shooting within 500 feet of a dwelling. He was assessed a $300 fine, $1,311.42 in court costs, ordered to pay $200 in restitution through the court to PCSD and sentenced to 280 days jail and two years probation.

Magistrate Year in Review

The Magistrate court filed 539 misdemeanors and 165 felonies in 2010. Included in those chargesﾠ were 84 worthless check complaints, 73 DUI charges, 47 drug charges and 43 domestic battery charges. In felonies, there were 41 uttering charges, 20 falsifying accounts charges, 12 wanton endangerment charges and 12 drug charges.
