Accident Reports

March 5: Tina M. Turner, 27, of Marlinton, was traveling north on Route 219 near Slaty Fork in a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee, when she lost control and exited the road on the east side, struck the embankment, returned to the road and then came to a rest in the ditch. No citations were issued and no injuries were reported. Corporal D.M. Brock of the Pocahontas County Sheriffメs Department investigated.

March 7: Mary Frances Kaliszewski, 73, of Marlinton, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Cobalt, failed to maintain control and struck the rear of a 2006 Ford CB driven by Christopher Lee Irvine, 36, of Marlinton, who was stopped in the turn lane at the intersection of Routes 219 and 39 in Marlinton. Kaliszewski was issued a warning for failure to maintain control. Sheriffメs Department Captain T.A. McCoy investigated.

March 7: Charlotte L. Schoolcraft, 47, of Marlinton, driving a 1996 Toyota Tacoma, was backing up to leave a parallel parking place when she struck a 2004 Chevrolet Z71 Silverado owned by Richard C. Dean, of Marlinton. She attempted to leave but the incident was witnessed by investigating officer Sergeant Chris Cole. No citations were issued.

March 9: Lois Jean McKenney, 72, of Marlinton, driving a 1999 Pontiac Van, was traveling south on Route 219 when her vehicle struck the elbow of a pedestrian picking up trash on the side of the road. McKenney told investigator officer Captain T.A. McCoy that she thought one of the pedestrians hit her vehicle with a trashbag so she did not stop. She was issued a warning for failure to give information and render aid.

March 24: Steven Edward Tincher, 35, of Buckeye, driving a 2003 Dodge Caravan, was traveling south on Route 219 and hit a utility pole head on with the right side of the front bumper. He was issued a citation for driving under the influence. Sheriffメs Deputy B.L. Kelly investigated.
