The Elk Headwaters Watershed Association spent the majority of 2009 compiling information and suggestions for the organization's "Common Vision for the Future" document. The document is the second in a series of three concerning the future health and stability of the Slaty Fork watershed. It was released to the public in December with "nine important concepts that link the future economic vitality of the watershed communities with the health of the streams in the watershed."
