In last weekﾒs county commission story, we erroneously reported that Cris Weber is president of the newly formed Pocahontas County Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. In fact, Rick Weber is SPCA president, Marcia Tester is secretary and Jay Miller is treasurer. Cris Weber, along with Allegheny Recreation Center staff, will be shelter manager. Pocahontas County Humane Society Treasurer Jane Dumire said the number of animals is not the reason the humane society did not bid on the animal shelter contract; rather, she said, lack of finances is the reason her organization did not bid.
