The rear tires ofﾠ this tractor trailer caught fire and set part of its load of hardwood on fire, as well. Marlinton and Shavers Fork firefighters responded to the scene, near Crooked Fork, six miles south of Slaty Fork on Route 219, about 2:30 p.m on July 1. The fire was quickly contained and firefighters offloaded the smoldering lumber. The accident blocked traffic on Route 219 for about two hours. The truck was operated by Dingess Transport, Inc., of Belington and enroute to Industrial Timber and Land, in Edray.
