Fatal motorcycle accident at Minnehaha Springs

The body of a Marlinton man was discovered at the site of a motorcycle crash that occurred sometime between 7 p.m. Monday night and 7 p.m. Tuesday night.

The crash site is on Route 92, approximately one-quarter mile north of the intersection with Route 39.

Sergeant Glenn Galloway of the West Virginia State Police was dispatched to the scene of the accident Tuesday evening at 7 p.m., where he discovered the body of Robert Francisco, Jr., of Marlinton.

Nearby was a crashed 1998 Harley-Davidson Sportster motorcycle belonging to Francisco.

Galloway said the cycle ran off the road, over an embankment and struck a telephone pole and a tree.

The crash site was not visible from the road and Franciso's body had been at the scene for some time, according to Galloway.
