Couple seriously injured in Route 92 crash
A Dunmore couple was seriously injured about 2:30 Monday afternoon in a car crash on Route 92, at the McLaughlin farm, north of Minnehaha Springs.
Daniel and Naomi Ryder were driving southbound on Route 92 in a Chevrolet Malibu when a Chevrolet Silverado, operated by Thomas Hevener, of Monterey, Virginia, drove from a farm road onto the highway and the Ryder vehicle struck the Silverdado broadside.
Daniel Ryder was transported to Pocahontas Memorial Hospital by Marlinton EMS. Naomi Ryder was airlifted from Huntersville to an unknown medical facility, with suspected broken legs. The airbags in the Ryder vehicle deployed during the crash. Hevener was uninjured in the crash.
Hevener was cited for failure to yield the right of way and improper registration. Captain Troy McCoy, of the Pocahontas County Sheriff's Department, investigated the accident.
