Chief Deputy Major David Walton thought he was attending a promotion ceremony for two fellow officers on Thursday morning, but he was the guest of honor at a surprise luncheon to mark the chief's 10,000 days of service to the department. Sheriff David Jonese, fellow officers and civil service commission members James Schepleng and Dottie Kellison spoke about Walton's professionalism and commitment to the department.
