Why did you join the Honor Corps?

Buck Pritt asked me to join, and I thought it was a good organization. Iﾒm proud to serve with them.

What did you do while serving in the Army?

I served two years, nine months and two days. I spent my 22nd birthday on an airfield during the Cuban Crisis. I was with the combat engineers. I drove a fuel truck in Germany, Berlin and Austria. Stateside, I helped build an airport in Washington State.

What advice do you have for new recruits?

I think they should consider joining. It would be a good thing for any young man or woman. They would have a lot of good times to talk about. Thereﾒs no better experience than in the service.
