PSC finds deficiencies in sewage treatment plan

The Pocahontas County Public Service District received a response late last week to its proposal for a new decentralized wastewater management facility in the Snowshoe valley. The PSC order allows the PSD until July 2 to remedy its proposal.

On May 1, 2012 the PSC filed comments in response to the revised PSD project outline.

"Staff commented that while much has been accomplished, the current version of the facility plan did not completely meet the requirements of the Commission Orders of May 10, 2012 and January 2012. That is primarily due to the fact that the plan is still not complete," the PSC order reads. "The Commission is sympathetic to the Complainants' position that the District has already had more than enough time to propose an acceptable project and has failed to do so."

The PSD has tentatively scheduled a series of special work sessions throughout June to attempt to comply with the PSC order. The first special work session is scheduled for Tuesday, June 12 at 7 p.m. at Jerry Holder's office in Linwood.
