According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases.

Granvil Kenton Griffin, 20, of Marlinton, appeared in court August 27 on a charge of possession of a controlled substance, less than 15 grams. He was placed on six months unsupervised probation and assessed $160.80 in court costs.

Phillip C. Dean, Jr., 39, of Hillsboro, was arrested August 26 on a charge of domestic battery. Bond was set at $2,500.

Luther Earle Pritt, 40, of Marlinton, appeared in court on charges of failure to stop at a stop sign and failure to signal 100 feet from an intersection. Bond was set at $200.

Mary R. Hurt, 61, of Beckley, was arrested September 1 on a charge of driving under the influence. Bond was set at $1,000.
