Accident Reports

January 1: Ethan Daniel Pugh, 18, of Bartow, driving a 1995 Subaru, was traveling north on West Virginia Route 92 in Dunmore. As he was negotiating an “S” curve, the vehicle hit a guardrail and went into the ditch on the left-hand side of the road. Deputy B.L. Kelly investigated. No citations were issued.

January 10: Roger Lee Ober, 49, of Marlinton, driving a 2001 Ford F-150, was traveling west on WV 9/3 in Slaty Fork and David Paul Painter, 49, of Marlinton, driving a 2006 Jeep Grand Cherokee was traveling east. Both drivers had their vision blocked by a bus when Painter attempted to make a left-hand turn and pulled into the path of Ober. Chief Deputy D.A. Walton investigated. No citations were issued.

January 24: Robert Sherman Sovine, 43, of Dunmore, driving a 2002 Jeep Liberty, was traveling on snowy roads in Dunmore when the vehicle went off the road on the left-hand side and ran through the fence at Jerry Taylor’s property. The vehicle broke eight fence posts on impact. Deputy Kelly investigated. No citations were issued.

January 24: Colin Gray McMillian, 19, of Raleigh, North Carolina, driving a 2005 Nissan Altima, was traveling north on U.S. Route 219 in Slaty Fork when his vehicle was pulled into the oncoming lane by slush on the road. He over corrected and lost control, sliding into a tree. Deputy J.A. Peteete investigated. No citations were issued.

January 25: Kendall Paige Robinson, 20, of Chantilly, Virginia, driving a 2004 Ford Explorer, was traveling east on West Virginia Route 66 when she entered a turn, and lost control of the vehicle and struck the bank. Deputy B.E. Nelson investigated. No citations were issued.

January 25: Donald Packard Fancher, 27, of Falls Church, Virginia, driving a 2008 Honda Civic, was traveling north on West Virginia Route 28, when David Jon Bocchino, 41, of Wilmington, Dela-ware, driving a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban, also traveling north on Route 28, stopped to make a left-hand turn. Fancher could not stop, and struck Bocchino’s vehicle in the rear. Deputy Nelson investigated. No citations were issued.
