At the February 14 board of education meeting, the board approved the following items:
In financial management:
ユ Payment of vendor listing of claims in the amount of $27,197.08.
ユ Payment of vendor listing of claims in the amount of $156,030.12
In personnel management:
ユ Resignation of Judith A. Kane, due to retirement, as teacher of second grade at Green Bank Elementary-Middle School, effective June 30, 2011.
ユ Resignation of Phillip C. Anderson as athletic seasonal coordinator for volleyball at Pocahontas County High School, retroactive to February 7, 2011.
ユ Employment of Phillip C. Anderson as golf coach at Pocahontas County High School, effective for the 2011-2012 season at a supplement of $1,200. Position pending on sufficient number of players to make a team.
ユ Resignation of Danial P. Lewis as school bus operator for Pocahontas County Schools, effective at the end of the 2010-2011 school year.
ユ Employment of Susanne F. Moats as substitute cook for Pocahontas County Schools, effective February 15, 2011, for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year, as needed.
ユ Employment of E. Jamey Weber as teacher of homebound/hospitalized students for Pocahontas County Schools, at $20 per hour retroactive to January 24, 2011, for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year, as needed.
ユ Employment of Jessica E. Cole and Elizabeth M. R. Sutton as substitute teachers for Pocahontas County Schools, effective February 15, 2011, for the remainder of the 2010-2011 school year, as needed.
In miscellaneous management, the board approved:
ユ Travel requests for February 14, 2011.
ユ Contract between the Pocahontas County Board of Education and David B. Wamsley to provide Psychoeducational Assessment services during the 2010-2011 school year, at a rate of $300 per Psychoeducational Assessment, $40 per rating scale and $90 per hour for conferences and consultation, not to exceed $2,500.
ユ Contract with the School Building Authority for roof replacement at Marlinton Middle School for a total of $148,916, with the SBA funding $111,687 and the BOE funding $37,229 from local funds.
