BOE holds short meeting

As the first day of school gets closer, the board of education held a short meeting Monday night to prep for the new year.

Superintendent C.C. Lester reported that the principal academy held last week was successful, as well as the Respect and Protect training at Pocahontas County High School. The Respect and Protect teams from all five schools met at the high school to discuss changes in the rewards program.

Lester added that Sandra Foster, Lead Coordinator of the Office of Assessment and Accountability, will visit each school the week of September 19 to train staff for the Acuity and West Virginia Writes programs.

In financial management, the board approved the following:
