Marlinton Mayor Dennis Driscoll, Convention and Visitors Bureau director Gail Hyer and Old Clark Inn proprietor Nelson Hernandez welcomed more than 100 adventure sport motorcyclists at the Marlinton Motor Inn on June 10. The Motor Inn was filled to capacity and several riders pitched tents behind the motel. The cyclists spent the weekend exploring back roads, visiting tourist attractions and eating good food in Pocahontas County. The riders are members of the Adventure Rider Motorcycle Forum at advrider.com on the Internet. Like the Ducati riders the previous weekend, the adventure bikers use their website to organize and coordinate rallies. Feedback on the website for the Pocahontas County rally was very positive. One rider posted, "I just want to thank everyone for making this happen. Dan, well done! That is a perfect area for the BYOB. It was great seeing old friends and making new ones. I am looking forward to next year!"
