Main Street in Durbin shines a little brighter now with the new addition of welcome banners and American flags purchased by the Durbin Beautification League. Durbin Town Council discussed purchasing additional banners at its August 9 meeting.

Councilmember Mike Vance said the banners have been met with great praise and several town residents have offered to donate money to purchase more.

モThe Whistle Stop has offered to buy six different banners, one per season and two more,ヤ he said. モOthers want to buy a banner in memory of a loved one.ヤ

Vance added memorial banners will be denoted by the names of the donor and the honoree.

With the town budget complete, council transferred $1,000 into the beautification fund for more projects.
