Durbin Council announces candidates
At its February 12 meeting the Durbin Town Council revealed the names of candidates for council, mayor and recorder.
On the ballot for council are Jeremy Bauserman, Danielle Finley, Robert Gray, Paul Lane and Mike Vance; for mayor are Donald Peck and Francine Lambert; and recorder, John Osborne.
Shirley Tracy’s application to run for a council seat was dismissed due to a clerical error. Tracy said she will run as a write-in candidate.
The election will be June 11.
In other business:
• Council accepted a bid of $500 from Ronnie Mallow for the town truck that was advertised in December. Council received five bids and rejected two – one for being late and one because it was submitted by the spouse of a town employee.
• Council hired mayor Donald Peck as the director of the 2013 Durbin Days Heritage Festival. Peck will be paid $700 for his service.
Durbin Town Council meets the second Tuesday each month at 7 p.m. at the Town Office.
