According to Magistrate Court records, the following individuals were either arrested or had activity in their cases. Angela Dawn Beverage, 32, of Marlinton, was arrested February 13 on a charge of domestic battery. Bond was set at $1,000.

An Ohio woman died Saturday as a result of a skiing accident at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. Andrea Rose Teodosio, 22, died at Pocahontas Memorial Hospital in Buckeye, said Laura Parquette, a spokeswoman for Snowshoe Mountain Ski Resort.

The new year brought a continuation of colder temperatures and above average snowfall. High temperatures averaged 30.2 degrees and low temperatures averaged 14.3 degrees. The mean of 22.3 degrees was 3.2 degrees colder than normal.

When Superintendent C.C. Lester was a principal in Nicholas County, he implemented the PRO (Prevention Resources Officer) program at Richwood High School. Now, Lester is hoping to bring the program into Pocahontas County High School.
