The first phase of repairs to Marlinton's aging stormwater / sewer drainage system is nearly complete and Marlinton council is moving forward to get the project finished. The goal of the project is to remove stormwater from the town's sewer system and improve stormwater drainage in the town.

Several Civil War reenactment units are preparing for a battle at Droop Mountain this weekend. Companies and battalions on both sides are mustering up to clean weapons, practice drills and gather supplies for the conflict. Units on both sides are recruiting new soldiers to fill their ranks.
