Nellie Margaret Salvin Payne, age 88, of Franklin, passed away Thursday, September 20, 2012, at Pendleton Manor in Franklin, where she was a resident for the past two and a half years.

Because Mrs. Payne enjoyed such competent and loving care from the Pendleton Manor staff, who formed a physically, emotionally and spiritually nurturing community for her final years, a memorial service, led by Chaplain Jean Caudill, was held in the chapel of the Pendleton Manor on September 27 with music by Mrs. Judy Bodine. Interment of ashes took place immediately following the service at the Arbovale Cemetery.
