What do you get when a firefighter decides to open a restaurant?

A firehouse themed eatery with a great view and even better food.

Buster Varner took the empty DMC Company building in Durbin and turned it into a place where people can grab a sandwich, salad or custom pizza and catch up on the news of the day.

Opened April 17, Station 2, named after the Bartow-Frank-Durbin volunteer fire department, has already caused a buzz in the upper end of Pocahontas County.

Serving breakfast, lunch and dinner, the restaurant has every moment you may be hungry covered.

Located on Main Street in Durbin, the restaurant faces the tracks of the Durbin Rocket of the Durbin and Greenbrier Valley Railroad and the East Fork Campground.

The restaurant’s current hours are: Monday through Thursday, 5 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Friday, 5 a.m. to 8 p.m.; Saturday, 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.; and Sunday, 8 a.m. to 8 p.m.
