The Lady Warriors continued their six game winning streak Tuesday night by overwhelming Tygarts Valley, 74-31. The Lady Bulldogs only managed to score five points in the entire first quarter, while the Lady Warriors racked up 23.

Two band members from the Pocahontas County Yacht Club played a free acoustic set to a packed crowd in Marlinton December 30 at the Dirt Bean Ohana Cafe. The event was the first show singer and guitarist Mark Egan and bassist Phil Whiteis have played at the Bean.

The local music scene has a new venue at the base of Snowshoe mountain, The Fiddlehead opened in late December of last year.

The Public Service District held three meetings in the last week in its most recent efforts to build a wastewater treatment facility at Snowshoe. The project has been in the works and in the news for a decade.

Throughout the season the Lady Warriors have been winning on the court by large margins, but last night's win is almost unbelievable. The Lady Warriors beat out East Hardy 102-29.

The Warriors whipped the Wildcats at home Wednesday night leaving their season record at 2-2.
The Warriors played aggressively throughout the game but it was after halftime that they really started to heat up.

Cadets educated at the United States Military Academy at West Point have gone on to serve their country with honor and distinction as U.S. Army officers since its founding in 1802. An unofficial motto at the school is "much of the history we teach was made by people we taught."
