PCYFL plays in pink to support a cause

The Pocahontas Youth Warriors traveled to Monroe County Saturday, October 6, to take on the Union Bulldogs.

The Warriors took the field with more than the fight for a win on their minds, they were Warriors for a Cure.

Each player sported pink socks and shoelaces, some added their own flare with pink shirts, mouth pieces, skull caps, towels and wrist bands.
The cheerleaders traded in their normal uniform for pink jerseys, pom-poms and hair ribbons.

All of this was done in support of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

Even though none of the teams came away with a win, they were fighters to the end and the Bulldogs had to work for everything they got.

The Peanuts and Junior Varsity teams both lost 32-0.  The Varsity team held the score at 0-0 at the half and ended with 8-22 loss.

No games are scheduled for the upcoming weekend, but the Youth Warriors will be back on the road to Midland Trail to face the New River Patriots on October 20.
