PCHS 20
Mount Hope 44

This yearメs football season came to an end Friday with the final game, which was Homecoming and SeniorNight against #3 Mt. Hope. The Warriors lost this final battle, 44-20.

The score, however, did not reflect how the Warriors played after Seniors Jesse Burdette and Justin Arbogast each hammered in a touchdown, tying the Mt. Hope Mustangs in the second quarter. After trailing by two touchdowns, the Mustangs got a third touchdown before halftime to make the score 22-14.

In the second half the Warriors gave up two early touchdowns and then managed a thirdᅠ of their own to make the score 37-20.

The final blow by the Mustangs, another touchdown, concluded a game some of the coaches considered モone of the best games of the year, regardless of the final score.ヤ

Graduating for the Warriors will be running back/corner Jesse Burdette who set the school record for yards per game, points per game, yards per season, and yards per career and was also named firstst team in the Coalfield and Potomac Valley Conferences and player of the year for offense in the PVC. Aaron Pugh, offensive/defensive tackle who earned the honors ofᅠ first team offense and defense in both Potomac Valley and Coalfield Conferences and number two defensive player in the Potomac Valley Conference. Justin Arbogast, who played fullback/linebacker/nose guard,ᅠ was second team defense in PVC and Coalfield; and Shane Ramsey who came out just this year and started at defensive tackle and did an excellent job anchoring the defensive line.

Volleyball
Volleyball has also come to an end; the ladies had a rough season, winning only a few games. However it was not a total loss as the ladies placed second in sectionals, defeating Meadow Bridge in the first three games and losing to number one Greenbrier West in three close games. They then went on to Regional match where they unfortunately fell to Greenbrier West a second time in the first three games.
