Warriors on weather-induced hiatus

The seventh-ranked Lady Warriors (11-4) used a 29-6 first half scoring run en route to a 58-20 road win at Midland Trail (2-11) last Monday.

Sophomore Miranda McNabb helped PCHS build upon their 15-4 first quarter edge by firing in nine of her 11 points on the night in the second quarter.

Junior Shelby Snead took over the Lady Warrior offensive duties in the third quarter scoring 14 of the teamメs 19 points, including four three-point field goals.

The relentless PCHS defense held on for the win allowing the Patriots only six fourth quarter points.

Snead finished with a game-high 24 points and six three-point field goals to bring her season total of made three-pointers to 52.

Snead is currently eight three-pointers shy of the season record total of 60 she established last season and is four short of the PCHS career total of 132 set by Christin Shinaberry during the 2004-07 seasons.

McNabb added a team-high five rebounds and two blocked shots to her 11 points for the Lady Warriors.

Sophomore Erin White dished out a team-high five steals and notched five steals.

Classmate Lyndsey Barlow chipped in seven points and five steals.

Junior Elizabeth Arbogast led the PCHS defense with nine steals.

The Lady Warriors were unable to travel to Richwood on Thursday due to inclement weather.

The game has not yet been rescheduled.

The Lady Warriors were forced to cancel their home game against Tucker County Friday due to the winter storm that hit the county last week.

The contest was tentatively moved to February 15.

The seventh-ranked Lady Warriors (11-5) fell 39-58 to fourth-ranked Tucker County (10-3) in the Potomac Valley Conference Tournament finals Saturday in Petersburg.

The Mountain Lions broke the game open in the early minutes with a 23-7 first quarter scoring run.

Tucker County continued to dominate first half play with a 15-3 scoring edge in the second for a 38-10 halftime lead.

PCHS rallied in the second half outscoring the Mt. Lions 16-11 in the third quarter and 13-9 in the fourth, but were unable to overcome Tucker Countyメsᅠ 28-point halftime lead.

Sophomore Lyndsey Barlow led the Lady Warriors in scoring with 11 points.

Classmate Chloe Bland and junior Shelby Snead added seven points each.

Bland also grabbed a team-high 11 rebounds and recorded a team-high three steals.

Sophomore Miranda McNabb racked up a team-high two blocked shots and chipped in five points.

The sixth-ranked Warriors (9-2) were idle last week due to the winter storm that left two cancellations in its wake.

PCHS was unable to host Webster County last Tuesday and Greenbrier West on Wednesday.ᅠ Neither game has yet been rescheduled.
