Lady Warriors garner post-season awards
Three Lady Warriors were selected to the West Virginia Sports Writers Association Class A all-state team last week.
Sophomore Chloe Bland was named captain of the second team. The 5メ 8ヤ center averaged an impressive double-double on the season with 12.8 points and a team-high 10.7 rebounds per game.
Bland tallied 10 double-double game performances on the season where her point and rebound totals were both in double-figures. She netted a total of 281 points and scored a season and career-high 22 points on two occasions during the 2009-10 campaign and dominated on the boards for PCHS, grabbing a season and career-high 18 rebounds against Richwood on January 15.
Bland finished with 236 rebounds.
Junior Shelby Snead was selected to the third team. She led the Lady Warriors in scoring at 14.6 points per game and accumulated a total of 321 points on the season, scoring 20-plus points in five games during the 2009-10 season.
The 5メ 4ヤ guard broke her own school record of 60 three -point field goals in a season as she fired in 68 to push her career total to a school record 145. Snead scored a season and career-high 27 points, as well as tied the school record of seven three-point field goals in a single game against Tygarts Valley on January 19.
Sophomore Miranda McNabb garnered honorable mention. The 5メ 9ヤ forward averaged a team-high 1.4 blocked shots, 9.0 points, and 4.0 rebounds per game. McNabb posted a season and career-high 18 points against Iaeger during postseason play on March 3. The post player also racked up a season and career-high five blocked shots against Charleston Catholic on March 11.
McNabb scored in double-figures in 10 games on the season.
