Brandon Hamons threw a no-hitter with nine strikeouts to lead the Pocahontas County High School Warriors to their third sectional baseball championship in three years.

The Warriors defeated the Midland Trail Patriots, 4-1, Thursday evening at Dunmore in the sectional final..

Wes Felton, Steve Halterman, and Dalton Walker each had RBIs in the game and Halterman stole home on a wild pitch in the fifth inning.

PCHS won three straight games to earn the sectional title. The Warriors defeated Midland Trail on May 9; Richwood on May 10 and faced Midland Trail again in Thursday's final.

The Warriors now advance to the regional round of state baseball playoffs.
