Kindergarten orientation scheduled

All children who will be five-years-old prior to September 1, 2011, are eligible to attend kindergarten during the 2011 -2012 school term at Green Bank Elementary - Middle School, Hillsboro Elementary School and Marlinton Elementary School. Note: Students are required to have State Birth Certificates and complete immunizations before entering school.

An orientation period has been planned at Green Bank and Marlinton to gradually introduce the child gradually to the school. The purpose of this orientation is to acquaint the child with the school and his/her teacher. He/she will gradually increase the length of his/her school day -- gradually becoming a socially independent school person. The parent will be given an opportunity to become familiar with the early childhood program. During this time, the parent will be responsible for getting the child to school and picking him/her up.

Parents bring and pick-up children during this orientation period.
All parents are urged to cooperate fully with this program to help your child begin a good school year without fear or overexertion.
